You get what you pay for!

I was watching a television show, Holmes on Homes, which is one of my favorites, when something Mike said kept juming out at me. What's the phrase you ask? "You get what you pay for!" You've heard that before right.

Now I'm sure that wherever Mike Holmes was when he filmed that episode, the original contractor was wonderful in the beginning and slowly dwindeld as they went along starting with communication and pretty soon he was nowhere to be found, and neither was their money!

Ok, here's the deal. The very first dead giveaway should be a low ball bid. Question 1) If the company isn't making any money, how can you plan on them spending time on your specific project? Rather, they will perform quickly with little quality in order that they might get to the next job.

The second giveaway is the sub-contractors, ARE THEY LEGAL? Question 2) If the sub-contractors aren't American then they're probably working for dirt and not doing a quality job. However, homeowners keep hiring them. Why? Well, because we want everything without paying for it, but when it's done they want to complain about the final product! And all I say to that is, You get what you pay for! In my neck of the woods it's hispanics. They run around saying Cheap, berry Cheap! Not to mention that they're not spending their money here in our country. So you're giving them work, meaning that an American did not get the work, and they are sending their money back across the border. You didn't think about that did you. Now don't go around saying that I don't like Hispanics b/c that's not true. I speaka da Spanish and have become friends with many a hispanic person, but the fact still remains that most all of them are illegally here and are getting all the jobs, and we're just going right along with it. SO STOP!

Here's 2 thoughts to ponder: If you had to take a flight around the world and You had a choice between 2 planes, one was built by unskilled and under paid labor and although it passes inspection, you know that it is still lacking. The other plane was built by well trained well paid contributors to soceity whose own friends and family could be flying on the same plane.

Which one would you choose? Of course, the one built by the professionals. Now, do you think that both planes would cost the same to fly in. Absolutely not! So why go with the lowest bid to build your home? Your home is a huge investment and it's the place where you will live, rear a family, and make many memories.

It just doesn't make sense!
